Ethical mountain climbing trips and tailor made safaris

Whether you are looking to for an awesome adventure or a break away from the norms of every day life; Tanzania has so much to offer. We invite you to come and visit the highly acclaimed UNESCO world heritage site and one of the recently awarded 7 nature wonders of the world, namely the Ngorongoro Crater, or gaze in awe at the incredible sight of the wildebeest migration through the Serengeti.

Why not come and enjoy the cool forests of the Lake Manyara national park or counting the abundance of elephants in Tarangire? We are also experts in getting our guests off the beaten track, so get in touch with us if you would like to explore more than the average tour operators offer.

Maybe you are looking to scale the highest mountain in Africa; the Mighty Mount Kilimanjaro, we have experienced guides that take our guests up all the different routes. Perhaps you would like to also climb the magnificent Mount Meru or enjoy the less well trodden climbing paths up Ol’Doniyo Lengai we can organise everything for you.

Whether you are an individual, a group or a tour operator, we can arrange your holiday for you. For many a Tanzanian safari and Mountain climb are once in a lifetime opportunities and we know how important it is to get it right. We tailor make all our packages to suit our guests needs.

When people choose to plan their Tanzanian adventure with us they are not just getting a lodge and tour company, they are getting a concerned friend who wants to be sure everything goes well!

Finally but most importantly, when you choose to stay/travel with us you are helping us to further our support to our local community. Honey Badger is committed to be a centre for community development.

We are proud to highlight just a few of the things we achieved last year;

  • Built two fuel efficient stoves and trained others how to build stoves and they have now built more in the community
  • Conducted first aid course
  • Planted over 100 trees in the community and developed a tree nursery
  • Reviewed the teaching in the local kindergarten
  • Supported the teachers in the secondary school (passing on key teaching skills)
  • Training in bead making, tie and dye and other craft items and setup a local craft shop stocked with items from and for the school
  • Built the foundations of the wall around the dormitory and for a new a new chicken house
  • Supported the school to plant a vegetable patch and buy the purchase at the lodge
  • Supported teacher training programme
  • Developed a school sponsorship programme and set up a mechanism to receive funds (Creating a second chance)

We still have the rice paddy that we purchased for the local school in 2010. And this continues to provide not only food for them but also enough rice to sell to provide some additional income for the school.

Thank you for choosing to climb with Honey Badger Lodge. Without the support of guests like you we would not have been in a position to help so many. Please also contact us if you would like to climb for a worthwhile charity, we are happy to help you with connections on this side.
